 Anne Schofield took us into her world, in her talk “If these hands could speak” . Her talk moved from her university days to a trip to London to meet her husband to-be Leo Schofield on the banks of the Thames on New Years Eve. Anne shared her journey to an audience including her daughter Nell Schofield, local estate agent Georgia Cleary and her sister Anna & many others keen to hear Anne’s story. Since opening her store in 1968 Anne has gone on to write many books on jewellery and is a well-known dedicated collector and expert in the field of decorative arts. Hosted by the Queen Street and West Woollahra Association everyone who attended the talk gained a new perspective on jewellery and a deeper understanding of a collectors’ life’s journey. Guests received a beautiful copy of her book – Australian Jewellery 19th and early 20th century. Anne was awarded an Honour of Australia in 2003. |
