Following the results of community consultation, the June 14 Woollahra Municipal Council meeting unanimously agreed to abandon the proposal to rename Fullerton Street as Ukraine Street and so seek other ways to demonstrate community support for Ukraine, for example through art work, flying the Ukrainian flag or similar action. There was a very high level of response from residents and businesses in Fullerton Street -122 responses for 128 dwellings and 39 responses from business in the street.  Residents voted 89% against the proposed name change, while businesses were 64% against. This pattern of opposition continued (albeit less strongly) throughout adjacent streets and suburbs. Support for the proposal was only demonstrated by respondents who either reside outside of the affected area or who did not provide a location as part of their submission.
