QSWWA Business Networking evening

All local businesses and staff are invited to the inaugural QSWWA Business Networking Evening on Tuesday 24 March, 6.00-7.30pm, upstairs in The Queen’s Lounge, The Woollahra Hotel. This is the first of two free events for businesses kindly sponsored by Woollahra Council to encourage local businesses to get together, learn from and support each other.  The QSWWA will provide a welcoming drink and finger food. The format will be 6.00-6.30pm networking; 6.30-7.00pm talk by local business expert; 7.00-7.30pm networking.

We are delighted to announce long term Queen Street business identity Anne Schofield has agreed to give the talk at this event. This is entitled “If these hands could speak”, an informal talk about her fifty seven years in Queen Street and her long career as an antique dealer, historian and consultant, specialising in antique costume and jewellery. This talk was very well received at the October Fashion & Lifestyle Day festivities, but most businesses weren’t able to attend, so now is your opportunity. Anne began her career in 1967 with a stand at Kaleidoscope, a shop on the corner of Moncur and John Streets, and in 1968 bought a derelict shop and residence in Queen Street. After extensive restoration, she opened Anne Schofield Antiques, her shop specialising in antique jewellery in 1970, so Anne has a very long history in business in Woollahra. This is a great opportunity to hear from Anne and also to congratulate her on her well deserved retirement.
